"I Have Wrestled With The Angel And I Am Stained With Light" - Mary Oliver / April 2018 Newsletter

Good morning, sunshine ...To begin,  a quote by Mary Oliver from a stirring article twitter brought to my awareness via Brian Pickings:"It is six A.M., and I am working. I am absentminded, reckless, heedless of social obligations, etc. It is as it must be. The tire goes flat, the tooth falls out, there will be a hundred meals without mustard. The poem gets written. I have wrestled with the angel and I am stained with light and I have no shame. Neither do I have guilt. My responsibility is not to the ordinary, or the timely. It does not include mustard, or teeth. It does not extend to the lost button, or the beans in the pot. My loyalty is to the inner vision, whenever and howsoever it may arrive. If I have a meeting with you at three o’clock, rejoice if I am late. Rejoice even more if I do not arrive at all." - Mary Oliver I am feeling this. SO MUCH.  There is sawdust that's been covering my sidewalk for weeks now from the Ash tree the city cut down;  I'm sure my neighbors are talking shit. I have a crack in my windshield that grew and grew and grew.  I've called twice but the guy never gets back to me so it just keeps cracking.  I need to go to the dentist,  get new glasses,  do my taxes,  get a pap smear.  But I can't stop singing mantras,  and playing sliver springs and tom petty covers on the clanky baby grand,  and writing poetry,  and dancing.  There is a stir in my heart.  IT IS SPRING.I'm late to my meetings.  I'm canceling them.  I'm not returning phone calls.  I'm not falling apart,  I'm falling in.  It feels great.  It also feels messy and overwhelming,  but I'm excited.  And other days I'm wrecked and cry like four times.  I think this may just be how I am,  after years of struggling to find that elusive balance,  I might just be a FEELER.  And that is okay.I hope you are okay!  I miss my friends out east and west and south.  I've been SO MIDWESTY the last two years.  I hope this changes,  and I have a new manager friend who is interested in helping me,  so we'll see if some of the shows come back on the road.  I hope so.  I crave it!But first,  I'd love to share something you can bring into your own homes,  well,  lots of things,  but I've just hosting started a NEW TV SHOW!  Party on, Wayne!  Cable access,  ooh la la!  Right now it has debuted on the YouTube,  and soon it will be shopped out across MN on cable access (not sure what time slot or channels just yet).  It is called Imbue Your Life and it is about all things spiritual,  positive,  high frequency,  inspiring.  My hope is to introduce you to interesting humans and ideas and practices that you might like to try integrating into your life. We've filmed two episodes now.  In the first I interview one of my master yoga teachers Tara Cindy Sherman about the goddess Lakshmi,  mantra and more in "The Path of the Goddess," and in the second I interview Jana Dancyncloud,  4th generation intuitive & Curendera about her rich ancestry and her healing practices and in the latter portion I lead a mini yoga session and she does a chakra themed meditation with crystal singing bowls (ps we are leading a workshop on this April 6th at Imbue Yoga!Watch the show here or click on the image below and please subscribe to our channel and give the facebook page a like!  Major gratitude to my first two guests and my producer,  Cheryl Moline & all the crew at CCX Media! This is extremely vulnerable for me,  maybe you can tell.  I get tripped up and nervous,  just like my first gigs.  I judge my appearance,  I judge my words.  But the point is,  it's not about ME,  it's about sharing goodness with YOU and spotlighting these cool humans that I love.  It may be really woo woo stuff but I love this quote by Nikola Tesla:“The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence.”Many studies show that meditation does wonders for our health,  mental and physical.  If this woo woo stuff gets you through the door,  whether or not you think it's REAL or true,  I think it may provide benefit.  Meditation is like "bicep curls for the brain" as my teacher Tracy Weber used to say.
