About the Artists
Mary Bue
Mary Bue is a songwriter, international retreat guide, and yoga teacher based out of Minneapolis, often roaming this beautiful world. Named Best Songwriter of 2020 by City Pages, her music touches upon archetypal themes of the human condition: love, loss, survival, dreams, and the natural world. A longtime student of yoga and psychology, Mary weaves sacred subject matter into her songs, seeking of deeper levels of consciousness, and concern for the environment mixed into oft-crass, real-world hue. Mary released her 9th album The Wildness of Living & Dying in February 2025.
Mary will be joined by guitarist Jeremy Ylvisaker, bassist Steve Price, drummer Richard Medek, violinist Shannon Frid-Rubin, and hopefully cellist Julia Floberg!
Mother Banjo (duo)
Featuring Ellen Stanley on banjo and vocals, Mother Banjo is a New England-raised, Minneapolis-based songwriter. Called “an outstanding poet” (Inside Bluegrass), she was a Midwest Finalist for the prestigious Mountain Stage NewSong Contest and has been featured nationally on SiriusXM Radio and CMT.com. She has showcased at South By Southwest (SXSW) and the Folk Alliance International Conference and has been touring behind her latest album The Devil Hasn't Won, sharing bills with such notables as Lucy Wainwright Roche, Grammy winning bluegrass legend Jim Lauderdale and The Gear Daddies' Martin Zellar. Now she is getting ready to release her first original album in over five years.
Boots & Needles (Duo)
Boots & Needles combines the talents of Lauren Asheim and Dallas Cornell and features Vintage Country, Traditional, and Rockabilly vibes. You may recognize Lauren from past bands including The Hula Peppers and Slippery People. She has also trod the boards as an actor and vocalist all over the Twin Cities including the Guthrie Theater, the History Theater, Mixed Precipitation and more. Dallas brings a wealth of musical skills and an eye for design to the duo and also plays with the Cornell Power Service. Known as the "human metronome" and a skilled sewing artist, he is full of surprises. On lead guitar is the incomparable Darryl Cornell! On fiddle and vocals is the fabulous Aubrey Weger! On bass is the very solid and creative Makai Catudio! They aim to share their love of all things country with some sparkles and dirt and a few more unexpected pairings along the way...
